When I was looking for a new apartment in March, I found one I really liked. The leasing agent pointed to a grove of trees across the street from my future unit. I saw leafless branches jabbing the winter sky like so many upended pitchforks. She said the grove would be beautiful in the spring. She was right.
Look at that lush swath of green. Home to songbirds that offer sweet tweets.
Here’s a picture taken a couple weeks ago. Fall colors–from my balcony! I’m tickled pink.
I love looking at the baby cottonwood–it’s the yellow tree in the foreground. Because its delicate leaves shimmy and shake at the slightest breeze, it catches the light, twinkles in the daytime, and offers soothing rustle-therapy.
Here’s a picture taken today. The cottonwood has shed its yellow coat, but the taller deciduous trees haven’t attained pitchfork status just yet.
I made a collage of the previous three photos. Not going to name my favorite season, but I think you can figure it out. 🙂
