Bai love

I drink to your health. In my glass are Bai Bubbles. You may remember their sparkling wit from August. This month, I present Peru Pineapple and Lambari Watermelon Lime.

Both fit the bill for subtly sweet and fizzy pizza prop. Great on their own, too.

Like the last two Bai bubblies, these sport a playful side.

Bai Bubbles - Peru Pineapple - Flavor so seductive, we should change its name to fineapple

Fineapple! Really? So cheesy, it’s fine. 😉

Bai Bubbles - Lambari Watermelon Lime - Your taste buds would commit a felony/To get their hands on a can this melony

lol – went from bad to verse

So far I’ve featured four flavors on this blog: Bogota Blackberry Lime and Bolivia Black Cherry in August; and Peru Pineapple and Lambari Watermelon Lime in October. Does this mean there’ll be another post in this series in December, you ask? No, this isn’t a Bai-monthly series. The other three flavors — Gimbi Pink Grapefruit, Jamaica Blood Orange, and Waikiki Coconut Lime — have fun writing too, but it’s not as creative.

Oh, before I forget, here’s the Bai-line for this post:20181021_192851.jpg

Cheers!

Sparkling wit

These beverage cans hide a playful side. Literally.

Here they are from the front. All slick and smooth.

And here’s the playful side.

Bai Bolivia Black Cherry – Take your taste buds for a wild ride on a cherry-go-round of flavor.

Side 2

Bai Bogota Blackberry Lime – Blackberry flavor so insanely delicious, it defies all lime or reason.

I wanted to Bai a Coke alternative to go with pizza. While nothing compares to Coke as a pizza bev, these antioxidant infusions fit the bill, Bai and large. They’re a fizzy, flavorful counterpoint to the crisp crust-soft cheese magic of pizza.

Sweetened with erythritol and stevia leaf extract, Bai Bubbles are 5 cals a can, if you’re counting. Each has as much caffeine (45mg) as a cup of black tea. Their colors and flavors come from fruit and vegetable extracts, so they’re clean and look gorgeous in the glass. Cheers!

Thanks for reading! Until next time, good-Bai!

What a punderful world

Wordplay makes life more fun. Look at the puns that showed up in different (if unlikely) places.

1. At the grocery store

2. At a concert

20180503_215616.jpg

I love this one! Why’d you go to that concert? Ya know … Jazz Becuzz! 😀

I’ve been to two Jazz Becuzz concerts in the last couple months. The first featured five Dallas singers (Carolyn Lee Jones, Breggett Rideau, Jennifer Martin, Mahogany Miller and Andrea Wallace, with Larry Davis (piano), Buddy Mohmed (bass) and Jaelun Washinton (drums). What a dazzling array of singing talent and top-notch accompanists. The second featured The Brehms — delightful musicians with a great sense of humor!

So, why do you like music? Ya know … Jazz Becuzz.

3. In a cookbook

A pun in a book of vegetarian recipes? Miso happy that me can’t stop crying. By the way, Nina Olsson authors Nourish Atelier.

That’s three puns. Is there a fourth, you ask?

Well … it isn’t original, but here goes: May the 4th be with you. Happy Star Wars Day!

Data pints

Now that summer’s over—sob—what better way to remain in denial than by indulging in Ben and Jerry’s treats, all perfect pairings of dreamy dessert within and double entendre without.

A quick survey of the Kroger freezer returned this three-item sample.

The best things in life are FREEzed.

Now that’s rich. Gets my vote.

Totally t(r)opical!

In puns in the freezer section, I gushed over Ben and Jerry’s Cherry Garcia, Mission to Marzipan, and Karamel Sutra and signed off with the promise of additional data pints documenting the company’s other puntastic delights. It took me five years and change to make good on my promise, and some might even say I’m not doing anyone any flavors. But if your day just got a tad bit sweeter and the punny ice cream names made you smile, this data collection exercise was not entirely pintless.

Love soda-licious

20160211_121745-1

Happy Valentine’s, dear reader! Love is definitely in the air at Tom Thumb where 12-packs of Coke, Diet Coke, and Coke Zero soar in a Texas-sized display by the checkouts. I had a fizz-ical reaction to this splendid stack and its effervescent kisses in red, silver, and black.

Be still, my beating heart.
